As far as I remember, the structure has a special "furniture" in the center named blood altar, and the grim pointer (the item that showed where the chamber is) actually points towards the blood altar. There is (probably, but I haven't played Thorium since ages, I wonder when it will update to 1.4? or did it already and I just missed the info?) an item in Thorium mod as far as I know that helps finding the Blood Chamber, which also generates random and can be hard to find. These items would be bought from the Zoologist at certain points in progression and when used would mark a structure's general location in the world. To help remedy this issue I would like to propose Locater Maps. And this is a real shame because Shimmer is super interesting and offers some helpful upgrades. I understand that the Aether is supposed to be mysterious and a secret but without the wiki, new players have no way of knowing where it is and have barely any chance of finding it since it’s found in an often unexplored part of the map. And when it comes to the Aether there is no indication that the Mini-Biome even exists besides the Shimmer achievement.
There is some dialogue from the Guide telling the player to go to the Temple after Plantera but finding it can be frustrating for new players who don’t know if they’re looking in the right place. However, something I’ve noticed is that a lot of new players have a hard time finding the Jungle Temple and the Aether. New players can use the wiki but the game is designed so that they can figure out most things on their own. Part of playing Terraria for the first time is exploring and figuring things out on your own.
